Last week was very eventful for 33Live, as we had two big events happen.
The Quest was on Thursday October 31st starting at 7:00 PM. Leaders started to arrive at the Hoppers house at 4:30 pm to help setup the field behind their house where The Quest was going to take place. There was excitement in everyone as people went and placed game pieces on the field or took a tour to know where to guide their own teams. The field was so large that even the characters and guides needed maps to know where they were going so as to not get lost between the twists and turns. At around 6:15 pm all the guides were in their dark cloaks getting in their cars to drive to the church to meet with the teams.
At 6:45 PM students were arriving at New Life Christian Church with their friends. Everyone was then seated and the lights went dim. After the Introduction the guides were introduced to the students and teams were split up. The students got into their guides car and were driven to the Hopper’s house where the adventure began.
For about two and a half hours you could hear teams working together or trying to figure out clues as they walked about the field. Sometimes you herd shouts, or screams, other times laughter. Whatever it may be, you could tell that the students were having a great time and were very challenged.
Nearing 10:00, teams were at their last challenge and then were done with the Quest. No one knows who wins until the next week at 33live. Students then arrive with mystery, and leave with mystery.
May next year be even more thrilling!
The day fallowing The Quest, was the annual Harvest Party. Around 4:00 pm leaders and Dibor arrived to decorate the Fire Hall. Streamers were being hung from the ceiling and doors, while others set up the hay and tables.
Around 6:00 the community started arriving in all sorts of costumes. Little Children and adults dressed up in anything you could imagine. Children played games made by 33live leaders and students. Candy was also handed out in brown bags to both young and old. There was also a pie auction and a costume contest. Joe Brennan won the costume contest dressing up as the Assistant to the Assistant District Manager from: The Office. The Mooney family won the family costume contest as they were dressed up as the Syracuse Football Team and the girls were cheerleaders. The Fire Hall was full of happiness and joy the entire evening. When 9:30 came around people began to leave with big smiles on their faces and free candy bags in hand.
All of this to say, that last week was a great memory builder and we were able to pour our love onto people.
Have a great week in Jesus!
